Testing Your Brake Stall Speed

The most accurate way to test the stall speed on your torque converter is with a transbrake. But if you don’t have one installed on your car, you can still get a good idea of what your stall speed is. You can do this by testing your brake stall, which will be fairly close to your true stall.

How to Determine Your Stall Speed

There are different ways of determining the stall speed of your torque converter. They are known as true stall, brake stall, and flash stall.

True stall is the only way you can determine your actual stall speed, and must be done with a transbrake installed on your car. This will allow you to rev your engine to stall without your car slipping forward.
